Art4Essex and their associated regional art collectives are dedicated to helping all artists wherever they may be located.
We aim to change the way that art is viewed by the general public, the occasional buyer and art collector. Available wall space for exhibiting seems to be a permanent problem for several reasons. Firstly, there isn't enough of it. Secondly, a lot of it is owned by people or organisations that are not actually producing art. Finally, most galleries or large venues are just not cost effective for artists to afford to exhibit their work.
Art4Essex is always on the look out for affordable exhibition space and unusual locations to show art to the local community. We have set ourselves the task of organising regional exhibitions up and down the country, where we will be helping all artists by providing vehicles to showcase their art. Art4Essex use the internet for advertising and networking purposes and most of our artists sell their work through online galleries, however, our main aim is to show actual original art in the public arena so that artist and buyer can interact.
Our secondary aim is to provide a safe way for any artist who can't attend exhibitions in person, to get their work displayed. When an artist entrusts us to represent them in an exhibition they will know their artwork is being properly looked after, as it is under the care of a fellow artist. In this way, our artwork can be displayed and sold all over the country.
Art4Essex are also keen to promote art in the community with particular focus on supporting local art groups, exhibitions and events, charity, school and youth projects. We are currently looking for corporate venues to exhibit artworks and, in turn, will donate a percentage of sales to charity.
To become an Art4Essex member we ask that you share our passion for art, our principles in exhibiting and representing each other plus our community spirit. Resident Essex artists can upload fifteen JPEG images of their work for free, whilst 'guest artists' can upload six images for free. Every artist is provided with a biography page attached to their online gallery. The Art4Essex website is currently run as a non profit organisation and artists are requested to provide their own contact details on their individual biography page for enquiries and sales.
Most memberships to Art4Essex are by invitation only, however, artists can submit images of their original painting, photography, sculpture or ceramic work for consideration along with a biography and contact details. Please contact the artist and webmaster Andrea Farmer through her gallery or by using the 'contact us' link below to discuss membership or any other enquiry about Art4Essex.
