Jenny Day
Contemporary Artist - portraits and abstracts in oils
Biography
I have always been passionate about art from an early age. I work mainly in oils, but am interested in experimenting with other mediums. My subjects are mostly old movie star icons, but I also enjoy exploring abstract, seascapes, whatever takes my fancy.I have attended art college, where I mainly used water colour. However, inspired by the various artists, I began to engage studies using oils, which I fell in love with, despite frustrations along the way. Whilst always on an endless learning curve, I have now been able to achieve a degree of satisfaction with my own particular style which has grown organically over a period of time.
I would say I'm a perfectionist, and take great care over fine detail, and try to really capture the essence and the true likeness of the person I paint.
I work on deep edged box canvas, and take the paint all the way round the edge, so no need to frame unless you wish. Some of my paintings are available as Giclee prints to order on art paper or stretched onto canvas frame. I am available for commissions.
Exhibitions:
I am currently exhibiting at the Baker Tilly offices in Chelmsford for approx 3 months.
